I have "wood look" vinyl flooring in my RV and wanted to upgrade to add stability and insulation. I know that it has to be thin in order to accommodate the slide outs, but what would the parameters be and how difficult a task is this?

It's totally doable!! Do you want to completely replace the flooring? Or just insulate?

Rip out what is there now, use spray foam on trailer frame, put plywood floor over that & screw in really well. FIll in joints & any flaws in the wood & sand down smooth. Then lay one piece vinyl or vinyl wood-look planks or carpet. Time consuming, but not really difficult - the spray foam could be your biggest cost, depending on trailer size.
