What are some fun ways to landscape a back yard?

We are putting in an aboveground pool for our children. I'm thinking about adding things like being bag toss and maybe horseshoes. What are some other fun ideas to incorporate into the backyard that will also provide a nice landscape?

I'd opt for simple - swings (maybe a tire swing), a hammock, volleyball.
Simple is better adding a lot of items will not improve your landscape.Use portable items so it stays neater.

Horseshoe pits are good for older kids, but for younger kids corn hole is better, using dry corn filled bags & doesn't require pit construction like horseshoes. You can DIY a regulation size for less than $50 including old & hardware. Don't forget the old tried but true badminton! Then there's "ladder toss", another simple DIY that's very economical to build. I wish you years of backyard happiness.
