I want to stain my deck. How do I clean it, waterblast, best stain?

I used Behr about 5 years ago. They changed to a lower VOC and the new formula

may not be as effective.

We power wash our deck, with oxyclean, then stain it with Wolman's stain. The next time we are planning on using Behr stain. When we put the oxyclean on, we use a new push type broom to apply, then wash it off with the power washer. It is best to try in a non- obvious spot, because too strong pressure on the power washer can actually dent the boards. We live in 4 season climate.
