    Depending on your cabinet.....clean surface with t.s.p., sand, prime with Kilz2, then paint. For the base cabinet you can use any good quality interior paint or enamel in a satin or semi-gloss finish. Remember to always allow for ample drying time between coats. Best of luck.

    Save yourself a bunch of trouble and use chalk based paint! No sanding or stripping of the old finish is needed unless you have peeling paint. You generally don't need primer but certain woods will bleed through. Clean the cabinet well first. I use a mix of vinegar, Dawn, and water.
