5 Ways to Upgrade Common Kitchen Items

Easy
Turn trab kitchen items into bright vibrant decor! I have 5 simple projects that can add a little fun to your kitchen this Spring!
1. Turn a cutting board into cookbook holder!
Use wood glue to attach a wood wedge to the back of the cutting board. Attach a drawer pull to the front of the cutting board using wood glue. This will act as the holder for the cookbook.
2. Get rid of drab dish towels. These $1 dish towels can be turned into vibrant designer pieces with fabric paint and stamps.
I used a feather block stamp, Fabric Creations Fabric Paint and a sponge pouncer to create this beautiful design in minutes. You must heat set the paint prior to washing. Once paint is dry, cover with another white cloth and iron.
3. Turn an old olive oil bottle into a colorful and functional dish soap dispenser. Use floral wire and a faux flower to twist around the bottle and secure the end with a drop of hot glue.
4. Turn boring wooden spoons into colorful creations. Tape off the bottom of the spoon, paint with acrylic paint. Once dry coat with Mod Podge Dishwasher Safe and let cure for 28 days before washing.
5. Upgrade white canisters by color blocking the spoons and adding sticker chalkboard tags.

Hi, where do you find $1 kitchen towels. They look like they're all cotton.
