Try Easy Off No Fume Oven Cleaner in the BLUE can. Spray it on. Let it foam and sit for a while. Scrub a little then rinse.

I have lots of minerals in my water and have found pumice stone followed up with Barkeepers Friend cleanser which cleans lime and rust. The stone does scratch the surface but old sinks tend to be very scratched which allows the stains to set in the first place.

I use white vinegar. I saturate with the vinegar from a spray bottle. And then scrub using a 50/50 Dawn Dishsoap / Vinegar mix.
