I store my cleaners in carrying plastic totes. One is filled with stuff I don't use very often and the other with stuff that I use every day. That way I can just pull one out and carry it where I need to clean. I use gel in my dishwasher in great big bottles. Those go under the sink and would be too large to put in the tote. I also have rags and sponges - not many - I avoid clutter. The more you have, the more clutter you have. That's my mantra. I can't keep paper towels there as I am afraid of a leak. We have just one dispenser to the left of the sink and that's enough for us. Dish towels and cloths are in a drawer to the left of the sink. I did't think as was that organized until I started writing down my method. My next project would be to ask my husband to build slide out shelves; but I am having second thoughts because I like the idea of being able to carry the cleaners from room to room. Thanks for inspiring us to be more organized.

This looks just like my farmhouse, 1872. Narrower boards likely a mid 20th century addition. If you keep it, use wood shims to fill cracks left by board shrinkage - shrinking will continue and wood filler will drop out. Plane to flush with floor.
