When do we start to fertilize and weed kill the lawn? I live in south.

    I live in SouthTexas, and I was told a good rule of thumb was to do this on flag holidays; Memorial Day, July 4th, and Labor Day. Any holiday this is traditionally a flag flying holiday. Good luck!

    Whatever you use; Fertilizing before May promotes a fungus in grass later in the summer. The grass cannot absorb the nutrients until it greens up and the temperature is higher in the soil.

    Weed and feed when it starts to green up so that you stop the weeds before they take over. depending on how South you are, this generally is late March, early April to first of May. Where we live, May is too late as the temps are already reaching 90!
