What an inexpensive way to make your old siding and windows refreshed?

My home was built in the 70's. It needs new siding and windows desperately but we cannot replace them right now. What can we do in the interim to make it look clean and fresh. I painted my door Ancenstry Voilet by Behr and painted some planters different shades of purple. But it needs more....

Would you be interested in stencil designs?

if you can, paint the surrounding woodwork a bright white (will contrast nice with the violet) and add a wreath of bright white and pink flowers on the door. If you have an area in front, can create a picket fence, just straight across, don't need to enclose, , (again bright white) and plant flowers In front of it, will bring the eye to that first. Add some stripes to the planters in again....bright white, purple is a beautiful color, but is more sedated, it only stands out if it is a vibrant purple. You want color that is eye catching, and that's what will be seen first, the rest of it becomes "blurred" and this becomes the focus. (as a former art teacher, that's what I would do)

Power wash the siding not the windows you might get water in house. Wash windows by hand. Then I agree with Marcy. Draw attention to front door area no one looks down at a clean house with awesome planters and door.
