Texas San Jacinto Day Porch Decor

Let's re-purpose a sheet of this metal.
Scrub it with soft cloth and household cleaner.
The length of the piece of tin is 7 feet. I divided it in 1/3rds. The top third will
be the area for the star. I marked off, with painters tape, the top 3rd. I spray painted a circle of white paint I thought would accommodate the star.
I cut out a star and glued it down with a water soluble Elmer's glue. I then started to spray the top 1/3rd of the tin.
Covered the bottom area with some packing paper to prevent overspray
to the bottom area.
I divide the bottom 2/3rd of the tin into equal parts. I divided the areas
with painters tape. Please learn from my mistake!! When I removed the
painters tape, there was unpainted metal.
Mistake! I should have removed the painters tape and taped the red and white
borders. There was also metal when I removed the tape between the
red and white sections. When I tried to correct, I got to close and the
paint ran. Frustrated!icon
Almost there.............will post photo of it on my porch soon. Watching paint dry.

April 21 is San Jacinto Day-- a great day to celebrate, but it's not Texas Independence Day. That's March 2nd.
