Paint the cabinets and countertops. Vinyl laminate planks or tile for the floors. All are easy to do and there are lots of instructionals around for them or even kits you can buy.

if the cabinets are in good shape and the color is fine, look for new pulls and put on back plates. Put discount door pulls in the search and you will find a lot to choose from. Look at the different kitchens on Houzz.com maybe pick up an idea there. Refacing or painting is about all that's left baring replacement, If this is the final option look at your local cabinet maker. The quality and workmanship as well as the price far out shines the big box stores with their particle board cabinets. After that there is Craiglist where you can remove the cabinets for free or buy them from someone who has and there is Habitat stores.
