Bathroom question- How can I change it?

My home is a 1970s ranch. I've made it open concept for the living room, dining, room, and kitchen. One major area that's left is the guest bathroom. It's covered in Torginal. Torginal is a composite resin that covers the floor, the tub surround, and below the chair rail on the walls. My question is how can I change it? Do I have to rip it all out or can I sand and tile or paint over it?

You can install tile over Torginal. Its a resin based Terrazzo floor. You will need to sand it to roughen the surface for the adhesive to adhere. I don't advise painting it.

i just painted my 70s bathroom tile with chalk paint. It was time consuming but turned out amazing.
