Bathroom Shower Tiles- how can I easily update?

I despise the boring bathroom tiles in the shower of my apartment rental, but I'm not allowed to replace them with new tiles even if I'm willing to foot the costs. Is there anything I can do temporarily in order to update what is there currently until I purchase my own home?

Window clings might work.
check on Amazon for kitchen and bathroom tile decals, come in a variety of colors.
There are special decals made just for this. I also read were someone used temporay tattoos on their tile. They followed the instructions for applying to skin and bought extras for repairs.
i bought inexpensive decals from the dollar stores..they work great!
