We did not have a bad winter. It has dried up. It covered the arbor last year. This plant is new to my garden.

If you see green, it will come back. This past winter was hard on plants in many areas so some plants may have died back to the roots. It sounds like this has happened with your passion vine. But it will recover quickly of the roots are still alive.

Depending on your location it is possible the shoots have not started to form yet.Make a small cut at the bottom of a vine if it is brown keep cutting until you see green .If there is no green at all it most likely did not survive.

i am in zone 8. mine has not come up yet, and i do not expect it to for another 2-3 weeks. some varieties of passiflora are called maypop because, from nothing showing, they sunddenly "pop" out of the ground in may.
