Our kitchen is very small. We went to Lowes and had their designer give us a new layout. She came up with a lot of great space saving and footprint ideas. They computer generate how your new kitchen will look. there was no charge for this service. We did buy a lot of the stuff from them, but not all of it. We also used their installers for some of the items, but found that they were WAY high on some things. So check with individual contractors for plumbing, electrical, flooring and cabinet installation. They did stand behind their work and corrected some things free of charge.
I worked with an outfit called Just Cabinets. They did a great job on the design for a small, narrow galley kitchen. I found my own installer thru Angie's list.
