How do I replace the veneer on the lid of an old singer sewing machine?

    remove what is left and with contact cement glue on a new piece . trim with a razor knife and sand edge

    You can buy sheets of veneer.

    You can spend a lifetime repairing this mess...if you want to repair it properly, replacing the veneer is the only way! Good luck!

    it would help to see pictures. You can fill in the missing veneer with a Bondo type product. But if it has giant gaping pieces it would be better to strip it. If it's chipped then fill it in. Sometimes there is beautiful wood under veneer and if there is it would be beautiful to use that wood.
