Once you have them shined up again rub them with plain old waxed paper. I use this old trick on all of my shiny faucets and the water stains do not set if not wiped up right away. Usually, lasts for a couple of months and then just do it again. I have really hard water and I soak a facecloth with vinegar and wrap it around the faucet covering every surface and just leave it over night. Wipes with zero effort. I just add this in case you live with a well as I do.

Vinegar and a little elbow grease. Once you've got them clean, start a weekly regimen.
