This project uses fringe scissors - such a fun craft supply to have in your collection! These fringing scissors from Martha Stewart cost around $8. They make fringing anything a breeze. No making individual notches with a pair of regular scissors!
I set out these pretty branches at the beginning of spring. I love their look on an accent table or on the fireplace mantel. You can customize the colors of the flowers to be whatever you like.
Supplies:
  • Branch from your yard (you can leave natural or spray paint)
  • Crepe paper party streamers (buy a pack of 2 at Dollar Tree for $1)
  • Fringe scissors
  • Elmer's glue
(Other supplies shown are to make the vase. Head to my blog post for the step-by-step vase tutorial)
Step 1:
Start by fringing a 6 inch length of streamer. Cut into the streamer about half way, leaving the bottom half of the streamer unfringed.
Step 2:
Use a toothpick or darning need to help tightly roll up the fringed length of streamer.
Step 3:
Secure the base of the flower in place with a dab of Elmer's glue.
Step 4:
Repeat to make a variety of flowers
Step 5:
Snip the base of the flower with a pair of scissors, leaving a small part of the stem in tact.
Step 6:
Add a dab of hot glue to the base of the flower and attach to the branch.
Continue adding flowers to the branches until you get the coverage you want!
