Help! Looking for the right type of grass

Living on the north side of a mountain with lots of shade, rocks and 4 dogs has been a challenge finding the right type of grass seed. We have tried Scott's for shade but it never comes back the following year. I'd truly appreciate any imput. Just want a pretty lawn. Yard is terraced, does get morning sun in most areas.
