How can I keep rascally rabbits from eating my hostas and sedum?
It isn't feasible to fence them.
You can either use chicken wiring to protect your plants or try sprinkling soap shavings around them to keep the rabbits from nibbling ( just remember to replace the shavings after it rains as they'll wash away) best of luck!!
I have used cocoa mulch. makes garden smell like chocolate bar. Only issue I had was making my dog not nibble on the mulch. but it kept the deer and other animals away from plants.
I used to sprinkle ferret poo. Nobody likes ferret poo. Now that my ferrets are all in heaven I use Neem Oil. My neighbors hostas are gone, bunny buffet. Mine are gorgeous (knock on wood).
Eat the rabbits !
sprinkle cayenne pepper on and around
I never knew rabbits ate Hosta. I wondered what the rabbits were after in my yard. Thanks.
Soap is not going to work.human hair is also not going to work.Rabbits generally do not eat hosta. It is most likely voles. There are many things to try however I have not found one proven remedy. So for the rabbits you can try applying citrus peals or a citrus spray.Along with putting sharp edged plastic forks or wooden skewers. You can also try making a spray with hot pepper flakes and garlic.Again there is no proven remedy
