  • Are you renovating your current space? I would just buy the largest table that fits the space, but not so big that it impedes the flow of the room when not in use. Does this help any? Not sure if this is what you are after.

Create an eating space along one of your walls. You can put in a bench against the wall that will seat one side of the table to get as much seating as you can.

How about considering a moveable kitchen island? You can prep, eat then move it out of your way. You can make one out of repurposed wood, stain it, or paint it put a drop down leaf on it and push it against the wall. It really gives it that togetherness feel without being crowded.

Since the kitchen already has a small footprint, you would have to go up instead of out with storage. Organizing and storage are crucial in small spaces. Also, maybe a rolling island/cart that could double as a breakfast area!
