Hello Hometalkers. How can I repurpose microwave parts?

The only things I used were the turn table glass for under potted plant and the wire rack on a cookie sheet for making wings in the oven. I would be carful getting into it internally

There is a part in there that is radioactive. If you take it apart be careful then take the insides to the junk yard that buys medal and ask them to tell you witch part is radioactive. I know that this sounds odd but you really do not want to mess with that piece. I use to dismantle electronics for all the different medals and I learned about the medals.

Use the flat metal sides to cut out animal shapes. Attach a small metal rod with jb weld on the back. Place in flower beds or posts for accents. I let them rust for more charm.

I was given the magnets from inside a microwave (which is what makes it work). I am uncertain how they obtained them or the dangers involved. YouTube for more information...

Contact the microwave's manufacturer to inquire about a take-back program. Some manufacturers will take your broken microwave and reuse some of its parts to manufacture new microwaves. No that is proper recycling!

The only thing I'd mess with is the glass turntable inside. I'd remove it, decoupage it from underneath so the food would never touch it, and use it as a decorative serving platter.
