What would be a good to plant by my fence to give privacy for my yard?

I have chain link fencing around my yard and want to plant bushes, etc along the side where the alley is to create a privacy barrier for my back yard.

I would pick 2 or 3 different shrubs for variety; boxwood/ privet hedges , roses or some flowering shrub for a pop of color & maybe some tall grasses for texture.
Forsythia, hibiscus, evergreens...you have lots of choices. Go to a nursery and ask them for ideas, Google info...

If all you want is some privacy put in what they call "Pencil Trees". They are thin evergreen trees, pretty much carefree.
remember to plant the new trees/ bushes as if they are fully grown. you don't want them pushing into fence and wrecking it.
