Hi Janet, they are wood and were painted when we got them installed about 12 years ago. They need to be repainted now due to usage. They are in bedrooms and bathrooms.

What material is the door and where is it?
Spray or use small foam roller
Ok so lightly sand,clean,Prime with Kilz or Zinser ,use a foam roller,allow to dry, and paint.
