How to get rid of birds under my entry way.

We have a side entrance to our Chicago bungalow and recently birds have decided to hang out under the covered entry way. They are not building a nest just seem to come and go leaving droppings at the door way. We have tried spraying vinegar, soapy water, wasp spray, but none of these has chased the birds away yet. They are not building a nest but seem to hang out overnight, check numerous times throughout the day and evening but have not seen ant birds. The next morning, more droppings.
Have been living in the same house for 30 years and have not, until now, had this problem.
We are willing to try anything at this point.
HELP!!!!

Could they somehow be getting inside thru a crack or an opening they can squeeze in? Put some Gorilla Tape across the seams and where the roof meets the entry and where the roof begins. You know, some creatures can squeeze into some very small spaces. Could be worth a try.

Yep rubber snakes, dollar tree has an expanding one that grows to six feet when it gets wet, and they have packages of colorful little ones. Red is good, cause in nature red says POISONOUS.
