Even though this sounds like fencing, we wrap our apple & pear orchard with chicken wire which is very bendable and it keeps the deer away.
Spray your plants with a water/tobacco sauce mixture. Animals won't eat it.
We cut up Irish spring soap into chunks and put into knee highs or pantyhose cut up tie with string or we use fishing line and hang them around. For some reason the deer don't like them. We hang by our blueberry bushes and his peach trees. We leave them out all year around yard, seen deer around, but not in the yard
