Are you referring to cabinets and what are the made of?

Remove the doors and hardware. Mark the doors and cabinets with tape where they go. Lightly sand the doors and cabinets to remove any gloss and roughen the surface for paint. Prime with a stain blocking primer like Zinsser 123. Then paint with your color. Seal with at least three coats with a water based polyurethane. Use a small foam roller and foam brush for a smooth finish.

After preparation I would go with Benjamin Moore. Used it in my LR and kitchen (light blue) eight yrs. ago and it still looks good.

The prep described by William is good. I did this to two kitchens and had no problem using latex paints on a properly prepared surface. I did not seal with polyurethane either time. I used the foam brush and roller to apply both the primer and the top coats. Good luck! :-)
