black pepper is the answer, sprinkle ground pepper around your yard. not only will it make the groundhogs want to leave but squirrels and unwanted cats too. its the capsaicin in the pepper that makes it unfriendly for them. however it will wash away after a few good rain showers and you may have to re-apply.
That's a good idea and I'm trying it today. However, you can see the tunnels so I will make little holes and dump that pepper in it about every eight inches. I had read if you did this with little bits of Juicy Fruit gum it would do the trick.
