What can i put on the outside of the boot so it will be easer to clean and keep its characters

How about a layer of Mod Podge or sealer?
I would put a leather protector on it (if it is a leather boot) would give great protection, keep color vivid and easy to clean. Just get an old shoe brush and give it a quick brushing every so often to remove dust. Other sealers may make leather crack.
