I have the same problem they are eating my tulips. There is nothing you can do, but you can buy deer resistant plants, go to the nursery and ask which plants are deer resistant. That doesn't mean the deer won't eat them.

  • I'm no expert, but there is a product called Deer be Gone that helped a lot for my white nectarine tree. I think the clove oil is the objectionable ingredient (for the deer)

1/4 OZ OF LEAD SHOULD SOLVE THE PROBLEM!

If deer get hungry enough even those plants that are considered a deer proof which nothing is or deer resistant rabbit resistant if they get hungry enough they will eat anything. I live in an area that lavender is considered deer resistant but last year my lavender were destroyed right down to the Nubs from dear it we're just hungry. There are certain sprays that will help deter deer the best one that I have found is a product that is a mountain lion urine spray period but it smells horrific and it has to be reapplied about once a week.

I have heard if you live near a zoo you can ask for lion droppings and the deer won't come around. You apply it at the perimeter or fence line. But my best bet is to buy deer resistant plants.

You could teach yourself to welcome them...and lose the friendship of your neighbors. Prioritize.

Back yard, I hang mesh bags with human hair (from my beauty shop) and Irish spring soap. I rub the soap on the stone border around garden. Also they don't like rosemary plants. Front yard, I have a plant called gold dust (acuba) I think. Also iris. They haven't bothered either 2 yrs now. Good luck!

Best thing to do is to replace those plants with ones they won't eat. I have deer in my yard every day and have found they do not eat day lilies, tiger lilies, shasta daisies, bee balm, daffodils and ferns. Good luck!
