Is there some solution that is safe for my dog and still gets rid of dandelions and other weeds?

  • Use boiling water to kill the weeds. Or pile a bit of epsom salt on the weed and sprinkle with water and let the sun do its thing. Vinegar will kill quickly, but nothing will be able to be planted in that spot for at least a season or two.

I agree. I use boiling water to kill weeds. You can sit there and watch them die literally. Two hours and they are "toast" Also, go to an independent garden store and buy Ferti-Lome Weed Out. 12.99 It also takes out crab grass. It is 20 ounce container. Hard on weeds, gentle on people and pets. No damage to grass. Like anything else, first read all the directions, ALL of them. Buy the little measuring cup they have just for that job, like a buck 99. Also I might suggest something called "Sticker" It does what the name suggests. You add that to your spray, 2oz per gallon with 6 oz of Weed Out in your 1 gallon pump sprayer. You will be amazed how quickly and thoroughly it works on dandelions and other broad leaf weeds, chickweed, henbit, thistle, crabgrass . Number one spot killer. If you have a whole yard full, asked the people how to handle that with Weed Out. They are professionals not big box store clerks hired to fill a position for the summer. If you need more help I am flr@fuse.net Cincinnati, OH
