I have a friend that goes to the dollar store (in this case The Dollar Tree) and finds things, mostly in their toy department. Little stuff, doesn't cost much! She did an adorable one with a little tea set (the set had about 12 pieces for a dollar) - she used various of the pieces as various other things (upturned cup as a table, little plates to line a path, etc.) I'm not that imaginative but she is! Otherwise, we also have a gardening center in town that gives 'fairy garden' instructions once a month - and we are not a very big town. Maybe you could call around and see if any of your garden centers or florists do those, or even suggest that they have a class. They get people buying the things to do the gardens at their store and you learn how to make them. I always look on Pinterest for ideas for them as well. Good luck!

  • I also use items out of the aquarium section, the rocks are great and so are some of the figurines are darling. If you have a Big Lots, they have jumped on the band wagon and now carry a cute line of relatively inexpensive items. Also try train store decor items. I use the decor from the train store mainly on indoor mini gardens as it can be a bit more expensive, but there are bargains to be had. Frankly anytime I shop, I look for items. It is a fun, easy and giftworthy hobby! Have fun!

Look in the dollhouse sections of hobby /craft stores also. Lots of ideas on Pinterest, too. You can create your own fences with twigs.
