How can I repair my Cement bird baths?

My cement bird bath dish is in sad shape. The cement has been chipping away to the point of showing only stones how can I repair it and avoid this from happening again.the stand on it is fine it's just the water dish that needs repair.

Contact someone at your local home improvement store in the cement dept. There ar several kinds of epoxy based cement repair compounds on the market and the seem to work very well. I had a broken bird bath and glued the two pieces together and it is holding water and seems sturdy too. Hope this helps.
