I have a vine in my yard that just goes crazy in the summer time and takes over everything it can find. The man at the feed store said it is a woody plant therefore a 'brush killer' type spray will kill it. I've tried that and it does seem to work for the summer but maybe I need to use it more than once or in the winter. Good luck.

Morning Glory's are so beautiful!! I am actually jealous!! we lost ours to a frost! You don't want to damage any other plants in the area so you should be careful with pesticides especially if you children and/or pets. if you aren't able to get rid of them you could manipulate the vines into a tree or bush shape so it doesn't take over your yard or run it along the top of your fence

morning glory plants are self-seeding, so if you have any growth be sure to cut it down in the fall before it has an opportunity to drop its seeds. The only sure method I know of that will not harm anything else is to pull them out. We love ours but have to thin it out every spring. Good luck :)

I think Grandma Barb is really referring to bindweed. It looks like a poor cousin to morning glories but the blooms are white or light pink. You can trim it at the ground once it is 12" long. This will eventually exhaust the root's food stores and kill it. I just pull it out whenever I see it. I think that does the same thing. Maybe it isn't a forever fix but so far so good.

It's almost impossible to get rid of bind weed. I had some in my yard at a previous house. I asked the local garden expert how to get rid of it. His reply was to dig it up, making sure you get all of the plant & the roots. Then you should burn it & be careful where you put the ashes. So good luck with that.
