My Mother is in a Nursing Home and she sees the same people and things every day so I have started making wreaths for her for every holiday and event that I can come up with an idea for it. I haven't taken pictures of each step but there are several that you might want to try too.

This wreath started with a grapevine wreath that I made from grape vine growing in the woods behind my house. I found the little bird houses at the Dollar Tree and I painted them light colors and put some Easter grass around them. I found a few cardinals at the Dollar General store and Mama loves birds so it is a hit!
Spring Wreath
This is made from little birdhouses that I found at Dollar Tree and painted them in pastels and bright colors with some Easter grass and burlap ribbon also from Dollar Tree. I found the little cardinals at the Dollar General for $1 each.
This is another Spring wreath
I used a grapevine wreath as the base and made poofs from netting that I found at Dollar Tree. I crocheted the butterflies and flowers and hot glued them to the wreath. another hit with Mom!
Christmas wreath
This was made from a collection of old ornaments that I have saved over the years. They are hot glued to a swim noodle in a random pattern and a bow made out of netting tops it off. This is a large wreath and went on the door to her room.
Christmas wreath
This is made from a metal wreath ring that I got at Dollar Tree. I went out in my yard and woods in the back of my home at cut the greenery and used wire and put it around the ring and added a bow at the bottom to finish it off.
Suggested materials:
  • All of the material for these wreaths were either free or very inexpensive. I probably have $15 in the most expensive one and I will take it apart and reuse the material in another wreath.

  • Just beautiful! So sweet of you to do this and I know it made a bunch of people happy. My sisters in law and I did something similar and we left them with the assisted living facility after the respective parents passed. It is amazing what you can come up with out of your craft stash, your yard and dollar stores. Great share! 🤗
