How can I build a small deck for my shed?

I would like to make a small deck for in front of my shed. It would be just 10' x 4'. Does anyone know how I would do it?

This is a good place to start...would love to see the finished product! Good luck!

much depends on the budget. The simplest and best budget small deck involves laying a few pallets in place and screwing down 2x4s. Roll on some sealer and you're good for probably 5 years. The upgrades involve pressure treated wood, artificial deck planks, foundations, tying in to the main structure, and it goes on and on, but 4x10 is tiny and 5 years is a good life span for a really bargain deck.

Thank you! I am on a limited budget with Social Security, so you see where I'm coming from. The way you put it, should be easy. Thank you so much for your response!

Brick or cement pavers would be more permanent. As we gets older in 5 years, it would be more difficult to do the replacement. You might get the pavers free from www.freecycle.org - you can post request or see offers.
