What type of drill bit should I use for Formica cabinets?

I painted out my old Formica cabinets now I want to add handles and need to know what drill bit to use.

Use a high speed drill bit. Use a piece of scrap wood to make sure it's the right size for the screws.

formica will chip so be careful perhaps if you can clamp a piece of wood or put a piece of tape over spot to drill just might keep from chipping
Might be better to drill from backside - use universal template or make your own from plywood. A carbide drill bit (for metal ) should work - just don't let it get clogged.
You might also put a piece of painter's tape over area to be drilled.
