I don't understand how, you file seeds?

    some seed have a very tough outer layer. in order for them to grow that layer has to be breached. out in the wild it may be a mouse or rat nibble that breaches it. some captive seeds need to be 'nibbled" on as well. that's were the file comes in. take a nail file, small metal file ...and rub the tough part until the softer part of the seed shows. the package the seed came in will tell you score or file the seed.


    that's one definition of file. i've also used a file holder-paper expanding one, to sort my seeds ie "file" them.
