Try Borax. Borax will kill anything that you cover. Put a fine sprinkle over the entire area where the ivy grows. You'll probably have to repeat this throughout the season and after it rains. At some point, you will realize it is gone. Good luck!
Ivy is very difficult to get rid of. I had a whole front yard of it when we bought this house. I tried weed killer and several other things and we finally had to have someone come in a dig it all out. One thing I have done is take a florist tube and put weed killer in it, feed a leave or two through the hole in the cap. That works when you have just a small amount of it.
We literally pulled it up by its roots! It was growing up a couple of our huge 60 evergreen trees, When we pulled the roots up, we could watch it finally die where it was clinging to the tree. Every once in a while we would see a start elsewhere in our yard (it was all over the neighborhood) and just pull it out before it got too much of a start.
got to get it by the root dig it up if pull little ones will break off
Thanks, I knew it would be hard to get rid of.
This is just the thing! I find this works wonderfully. You have to cut down the weed and then brush this on the top of where you cut it. Bonide
