Green algae / moss on wood on north side of house/deck- help!

I'm looking for a product or DIY mixture that will clean, kill and prevent future growth of that green algae or moss or whatever it is that comes back on the north side of the house. I have a second level deck and get this under the deck on the posts and lattus on the underside. I've tried some commercial products but that doesn't seem to help. The wood has been stained and sealed, but that too didn't seem to help. I'm in NW Ohio if that makes a difference

Thanks

Try a product called Wet-n-Forget safe for all surfaces available at Home Depot.

The solution for removing moss off roofs works well; your main issue is that there isn't enough air circulation there, either due to low growing bushes & or high tree coverage overhead. It will help if you 'open up the area' by pruning bushes/plants back & if you can't prune back any trees, have someone you know that can cut a few trees down to 'open the air space' so the area has a chance to dry out.

I'm in Oklahoma and we have the same issue. We do not have any type of plants/bushes against the north side of our house. We've power-washed and scrubbed and "treated" every square inch of the siding to no avail. It continues to get covered in mildew/algae/moss each year.
