Most of us are familiar with these plain vintage iron fish tank stands, especially if you grew up in the 70's! My Dad had one just like it when I was growing up. I bought this vintage fish tank stand at a local thrift shop when my son bought a couple of lizards. When we no longer had lizards in the house I used the tank stand to do my spray painting projects. That's when I decided to give it a makeover. With a few really simple steps this ugly old fish tank stand becomes an attractive table for my patio.
I bought this old fish tank stand at a local thrift shop for less than $10.
I painted the tank stand and attached a few ceramic floor tiles and PRESTO, CHANGO it has become a sweet upcycled table for my patio. I am currently using it as a plant stand but it can also be used as an impromptu bar for snacks and drinks when I have family gatherings and parties. It will even hold a small table top barbecue too!
