Liquid Nails is solvent based and sometimes can be weakened with heat. Try using a hair dryer to heat up the adhesive and scrap gently with a putty blade, It may take several tries to get it all off.
tried that and it was not doing anything :( sloppy job by the contractor, its a handful of spots on the ceiling in our back screen porch we had installed. no-one else probably doesn't even notice but it drives my ocd crazy!!!!
Have you tried mineral spirits or petroleum jelly? Letting those things sit on the Liquid nails for a while might soften it. Otherwise, you might have to ask someone in Home Depot or Lowe's
