Old TV Cabinet into a Liqueur cabinet

Susan Simpson
by Susan Simpson
Need some Ideas... I got this oak cabinet the other day, it had a TV in it. I am thinking about turning it into a wine/liqueur cabinet. It needs cut in half width wise and I want to add wine glass racks and a wine rack and doors... does anyone have any good advise on how to cut in half?? And hmmmm what to use for doors? (I will use the other half for shelves... can never have too many. I will be sanding and staining it darker also

I hope you don't mind but I drew on your picture, and not very well but you should be able to get the idea from it. They sell the components individually or you can make them yourself. Remove the shelf put your bottle unit in and use the shelf on top of your bottle unit.

@Susan Simpson After you cut it... you could use the other half maybe for an upper compartment? I don't know about the space you're trying to fit it in.. but good luck! It will be a fun project.

Susan You would need a fence guide set up to dimensions of width you wanted slowly push through and of course keep turning piece after each cut to get in half. That's the best I could think of, it's what I did to cut pieces (not furniture but other things) so I could make sure cut was even all the way around.

If you decide to keep that bottom shelf, that space is valuable for napkins, coasters, bar utensils--it looks like a Target/Walmart/Cost Plus woven basket drawer organizer for utensils and the like would fit nicely and keep all that stuff in my bar drawer organized and handy, but out of sight.

I cut my desk inhalf and made a storgae cabinet out of it. I used old windows for doors. And it sits on it side its a tall cabinet. My first big project. I cut in half with a circular saw. If you wants pics email me Jodyshandmadesoap@gmail.com Its awesom how it turned out.

Great ideal. There are so many of these cabinets out there, maybe you could find one the right height. I would hate to cut it wrong I would also add a mirror back or a design back to glam it out. I might have to do this.

I have an OLD, OLD TV in the cabinet with the closing doors, My Grand Parents had it back in the 50's. I'm wondering what to make with the cabinet, of course I would need to remove the TV part......Suggestions. Please.

We used my parents for an entertainment center. Just added some shelves.
