My DIY Library File

I found this box in the trash when my neighbor moved away. It was full of oil paint tubes and in very rough shape. There was a drawer missing so I had one made and it did not match the old finish. I made a quick fix of a similar color and did a crackle finish. After years the crackle began to peel off so I sanded it down and added library file pulls. I think it's ready to go another 15 years. The total cost of the job was five dollars for the pulls.
The old drawers stacked on top of a dresser I use as a buffet in the dining room.
After sanding with a palm sander to remove the peeling crackle paint I decided I liked the look of the aged finish so I quit sanding and sprayed it with several coats of poly.
I found library pulls on Overstock.com and quickly typed labels for the drawers. Crooked labels I might add. ;) I removed the wooden knobs and added the pulls.
Taa Daa... I love the look of it. I store so many small things from dog clippers, reading glasses, candles to who knows what. I always know where these things are now and I don't need a junk drawer.
Suggested materials:
