Theodore, here are some things you can do to manage these pests. Make sure to rake up and dispose of apples on the ground, this isa very important step then destroy all leaves, litter and debris from under the tree. This one simple natural step helps prevent the disease in the first place. Now since your tree already has signs of the disease, apply an approved insecticide (a combination of Pheromone and an insecticide in a paste) can be used to control codling moth by 3-4 foliar treatments ...»
starting in late spring to mid-summer. Apply the paste on the leaves and branches of the plant. Hope this helps. it is sad that your plant was affected, but make sure you act fast or they can destroy the plant.
