A few years ago I repainted/resurfaced our extremely worn porch decking floor with the paint made especially for that purpose. Can't for the life of me, remember the brand, but got it at Lowe's and it was a textured (sand?) paint. You apply with a roller. It filled in all the nail holes, cracks, etc on our 25 yo decking and has held up really well. Even with chair legs scraping across it.
