Where did this tile come from???

We moved into our current home about a year ago and though the previous owners didn't keep it up much, they did do a few improvements that we like. Problem is, we don't know where they bought the tile from and I'd love to avoid ripping it all out because we're unable to find a match. Has anyone seen this tile at a mainstream home improvement store (Lowes, Menards, Home Depot, etc)? There is some accent tile in the home I spotted at Menards but I didn't see this...tile is the standard 12 x 12 inch size. The tile itself is textured (it's not just the paint job). Any suggestions appreciated. :)

Kind of looks what I have in my bathroom. I got it from Lowes'. Unfortunately I don't remember the specifics but it's Italian stone, Roman stone...? It's heavier than the regular porcelain

@Rachael maybe this will help you...we have two huge tile manufacturing plants here in Crossville, TN. One is STONE PEAK and the other CROSSVILLE CERAMICS. I believe they both make this tile, I know know Lowes sells Stone Peak tiles...company is from Italy and I know I have seen this tile. Happy Hunting, Jan
  • If you take a picture of it to a local tile place, as opposed to a big box home improvement place, they will help you locate a match.

That's always a tall order.. matching tile. I do not recall ever having luck finding a perfect match, but we have been able to get close. Usually, you have to go to any and every tile showroom and/or big box store in your area and just show the salespeople or look around and see what they have that is close. Funny thing about tile is that even if you knew exactly what brand and series it is, and bought more, it may not be a perfect match either. Sometimes different lots of the same tile will come out slightly different. Did the former owners leave any paperwork to indicate if they had someone else install the floor? If so, perhaps the installer would have a record?

@Hamtil Construction LLC No, unfortunately it was a foreclosure so they didn't leave anything helpful (and judging by the other tile, it wasn't professionally done). At least the tile will be close but not touching so if it isn't a perfect match, I think it'll be okay. Thank you! :)
