You can always google the product name and see what comes up that you are familiar with. There are a lot of craft/hobby stores that also sell online, that are US based. If you don't mind the shipping cost.
Alice McKinstry, do you have large home improvement stores? Do you have Walmart, Target, or large hobby supply stores? People from Canada often say they can't find the same brand names either. But for most items, surely there is an equivalent. We just have to figure out what they are. Best wishes!

I'm in American living the past three years in the UK. They don't have stores like Walmart target Michael's but they do have Colemans, Hobby craft, the Range which is my personal favorite !!! And then they have stores like Home Depot which is called B&Q.
Mans then there's always amazon and eBay. I find amazon.co.uk usually has everything I'm looking for and sometimes cheaper!
