Remember the Alamo...kitchen

3 Materials
I helped a client update his kitchen but it came with some surprises....
His "orange oak" cabinets were feeling dated and he was ready for an update. I helped him pick out some new hardware too. That gives it that truly new feeling when you're done.
I deep cleaned everything, deglossed, and gave (more than) a scuff sand... primer, two coats of paint, and a sealer. 24 hours later, I got a surprise...
YUCK!
Old, deeply embedded grease stains! Total bummer. The only way to fix it is oil based primer. Some cabinets took three tries before they were done. (BOO!)
In the end, it was completely worth it. The cup pulls and knobs from D Lawless hardware really add so much and my client loves his new (to him) kitchen!

For photos of the rest of the kitchen and more details on the project (like how I managed to reinstall the wine rack over the fridge alone), check out my blog post below.
