How do I clean and shine up my black range?

We recently purchased a black flat top range. I enjoy using it but have such a hard time keeping it sparkling. Every fingerprint shows constantly and when I clean it I have to polish it with a paper towel to get even a bit of a shine on it. What on earth can I do?

At Walmart or the grocery store, you can buy low-abrasive gels made for flat top stoves. Some people suggest using no-lint cloths for this job, but I found that the soft paper towels are the best. They are more costly than what I use for general spills and cleaning, so I hide them from the family! If a few fibers are left after everything has dried, you can just blow or whisk them away. Follow the rules for your stove-no hotter than medium, pans in the center, use the right kind of pans. Best wishes!

After your regular cleaning try spraying white vinegar and water and use a micro fiber cloth.

We just bought one as well and although it looks beautiful, it is a pain to clean. Get the low abrasive cleaner for the flattops along with a non-abrasive scrub pad (your cleaner may come with one as mine did). Use a tiny amount on the spots and dirty area, spread it around and let it sit to dissolve then scrub with scrubbie. I'm thinking a Scrub Daddy would work for this great. If you have really stuck on stuff a razor blade at a 45 deg. angel will remove, I also use glass cleaner to shine it up. The regular cleaner for flat top is like a wax and everything shows when you touch it. Get a microfiber towel just for this purpose.

Try baking soda and vinegar with a drop of liquid dishwashing detergent.

Thanks but that seems as much work as I am doing now.

Thank you Jewell....I will try the soft towels for sure.

But why no hotter than medium....they have hot settings on the burner handles.
